God's Eye Weave (Ojo de Dios)

'Ma-Kit’s are craft workshops in a box. Ideal as a gift (for yourself or anyone else!), Ma-Kits are DIY kits containing all materials and instructions to complete a specific craft project at home. We prepare everything in the box ourselves, as we would for a workshop, and love the thought of you rummaging through it!

This workshop in a box uses sticks and yarn to make a colourful decoration. A God's eye (in Spanish, Ojo de Dios) is made by weaving a design out of yarn upon a wooden cross. Often several colours are used, and they are considered to bring good luck. This is a great art project for kids and families. In fact, weaving is perfect practice for enhancing fine motor skills, especially in young children.
